Meet Moaner.

Born in Long Island, raised in Queens, and marooned in Germany, Moaner T. Lawrence was building pumpkins out of his Duplos before he could form complete sentences. Obsessed with everything Halloween, Moaner grew to become an enthusiast for horror literature, video games, films, music, and all other things spooky. From 2011 to 2022, Moaner was the face of Rue Morgue Magazine’s German branch, Rue Morgue Deutschland. He was also a regular contributor to Germany’s largest horror film publication, Virus, in 2014. In 2015, Moaner ascended to the title of ‘Assistant Editor’ at Escape Artists’ horror fiction podcast, Pseudopod, until he left his chair in 2018 to lead the Fright Club workshop. In addition to a collection of cultural and art articles relating to the genre, Moaner has also published short fiction, including “Bad Newes from New England,” a colorful reimagining of the first American Thanksgiving; “The Great American Nightmare,” a Lovecraftian yarn where C’thulhu is inaugurated as the 45th president of the United States of America. Look out for his upcoming work as editor-in-chief in Fright Club’s first anthology, The Devil’s Justice in New Arona.
